ABOUT US
Working Paws Dog Rescue aims to work with communities, farmers, animal shelters, and with other dog rescue groups to provide assistance, support and rehoming of working dog breeds, who, for whatever reason, have found themselves homeless or in need of some extra care. We also aim to work with the general public to help with the education on the importance of dog ownership including continual training and health care.
Our mission is to match dogs with the right environment to match their personality and needs.
For example, for a high energy or drive focused dogs, we would match the dog to a dog sport or working home or have the dog assessed with either the Australian Defence Force or Correctional Services program where they could become an Army or drug detection dog. However, with our lower energy dogs, these furry friends can be a running buddy, or adopted to active families, who understand the breed and are fully committed to their ongoing training and socialisation.
Our co-founders, Committee and foster carers are committed and passionate in ensuring the longevity of the dog's future and providing the voice to those barks which are getting lost in the pack.

BECOME A FOSTER CARER
We are always looking for dedicated carers experienced with working breeds who have the drive to help improve a dog's future.
Being a foster carer isn't always a smooth road, but it is an incredibly rewarding process to see a dog develop and grow and start to understand what its handler is trying to teach them.
Working Paws also has an incredible team of professional qualified trainers and behaviorists on board to help carers understand the dogs' quirks and iron out any furballs so the dog is always gaining a win each day.
If you have room in your heart and home, time and dedication to saving dogs in need and a passion for helping when the treats are down, come join the Working Paws family.
